2010 HERITAGE POWER & COUNTRY FESTIVAL
Plans are well underway for the 2010 Heritage Power and Country Festival to take place on May 29th and 30th. This is the ‘’show of the year’’ in Cumberland and the two day family oriented event is held at the Cumberland Heritage Museum. The special event is organized by the Cumberland Lions Club in partnership with the Museum and in collaboration with other community groups and non-profit organizations, including the Navan Lions.
The objective for 2010 is to make the Festival ‘’bigger and better’’ and it will include activities such as the Capital horse pull, return of lawn tractor races, dog agility groups, Ottawa Police K-9 demonstration, live music entertainment, exhibits and old machinery including rare but working gas and steam engines, antique cars, classic and vintage motorcycles, crafts, traditional trades demonstrations, displays by artisans and special activities for children. There will also be train rides by the Ottawa Valley Steamers and opportunities to send a telegraph through Cumberland Telegraph Operators and much more...

MapleFest 2010
Maple syrup and pancakes lovers
The Cumberland Lions Club invites you to join them for the 41st Annual MapleFest on April 10th and April 11th, 8AM to 3PM... Come and taste the ‘hot-off-the grill' pancakes and sausages, smothered in local maple syrup. The Lions pancake cooks will be ready to fire up the griddles and flex their pancake flippers.
Residents from all over the Ottawa Valley and the Outaouais attend this event which has become a tradition for many families. Last year, close to 1,600 meals of all you can eat pancakes, sausages and maple syrup were served. The Lions look forward to exceeding that number this year.
It’s a great event and also a very important fund raiser for the Lions.
Maple syrup products are also available for sale by the Cumberland Scouts and the three area churches will host a bake sale on Saturday morning at the United church across from Maple Hall.
